Celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival with Zongzi, Wishing for Health and Well-being Year After Year
As the Dragon Boat Festival draws near, our company (JYHT) hosts an annual celebration of the traditional holiday — a Zongzi making competition for all employees. This event not only allows employees to experience the joy of making Zongzi for the Dragon Boat Festival firsthand, but also deeply feels the charm of JYHT culture and the profound significance of the activity in laughter and joy.
At the beginning of the event, the host took the stage to introduce the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival to all employees. He elaborated on the story of Qu Yuan, the tradition of dragon boat racing, and the custom of eating Zongzi during the festival, giving employees a deeper understanding of the cultural connotation of the Dragon Boat Festival. Following that, JYHT specially invited experienced Zongzi making masters to conduct on site teaching demonstrations. The masters displayed the steps of making Zongzi to employees with skilled hands. Employees gathered around the masters, listening attentively, observing carefully, and occasionally expressing admiration and laughter.
After the teaching demonstration, employees eagerly embarked on the task of making Zongzi themselves. They were divided into several groups, each with a master to provide guidance. Employees picked up the bamboo leaves and began to try making Zongzi according to the master's instructions. Although it was inevitable to be a bit overwhelmed initially, with the master's patient guidance and the help of their peers, they gradually mastered the skills of making Zongzi. Soon, pieces of verdant bamboo leaves transformed into various shapes of Zongzi in the hands of the employees.
